Sunday School is a warm and nurturing place that represents a major component of St. Paul’s vision. Our children and youth learn about faith through scripture and look forward to innovative sessions that include visual arts, music, fun activities and memorable literature.

Noah’s Ark to Pre – K is the youngest age group for children ages 3, 4 and 5. This is an introduction to the Gospel. All of the activities are fun and interesting which helps our teachers to bring the stories to life for the children.

The Garden of Eden is the Primary Class for Grades 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The stories are age appropriate and are always accompanied by games, arts & crafts and music.

The Heaven’s consists of Grades 4th, 5th and 6th,. and is considered the Intermediate Class. Children engage in in-depth discussion about Sunday’s Gospel. This age group spends time journaling their thoughts and begin exploring opportunities for incorporating the Gospel into daily interactions with family and friends.

Text Talk Sessions engage the Teens and encourages leadership in the sanctuary in a variety of ways. Teens have a Sunday school study offering on 1st and 3rd Sundays. Bible specific curriculum has been chosen for this group. The focus is on reading and using the Bible in daily living. All teens are presented with a Bible for their personal use.

There are also seasonal programs in which the children participate. They come together as entire unit to present for congregation. The children present in speech, dance and song for Christmas; Epiphany/Martin Luther King Jr. Day; Black History Month; Easter and a year end celebration.
Worship time begins in the Sunday school classrooms. After the sermon and the Peace the children join their families to participate in the Eucharist. This interactive portion of our service gives children a greater understanding of worship traditions. Participation in worship is one of the important ways children learn and grow in faith and is an integral part of the whole Sunday School program.

All children are welcome and encouraged to participate in St. Paul’s Sunday School where they are nurtured, engage in a Christian based educational program and most importantly, have fun. The Sunday School operates September through May. For more information on the age-specific programs, please click here (make a link to info posted below).
