One of our closest neighbors houses hundreds of children who, by all accounts, are
thriving. Peyton Forest Elementary School and St. Paul’s established a partnership
that has continued to grow over the years.
Peyton Forest has a current enrollment of 499 students in grades K-5. In 2006 Peyton
Forest Elementary School was named a silver-banner school for ranking in the top
4 percent of Georgia schools making gains in meeting or exceeding CRCT standards,
with at least 25 percent exceeding the standards. Under the direction of Principal
Karen Barlow-Brown, the school is expected to become one of the top-performing elementary
schools throughout the city of Atlanta.
St. Paul’s has been working with the staff and students at Peyton Forest for a number
of years. Some of the activities and events that the congregation participate in
include:
- Back to School Pep Rally
- School Supply Drive
- Male Read-In
- New & Gently Used Book Drive
- School-Wide Project Fair
- AAE Spelling Bee
- Adopt-A-Family for Christmas
- End of the Year Incentive Rewards
Volunteers are always needed throughout the school year, so if you enjoy working
with children please consider lending your support to this ministry. Contact
